Efforts are on for the establishment of a university proposed to be named as Imamia Islamic University. This university is visualized as an institution for higher education & research. Progress in setting up this institution is encouraging. Another landmark is the recent inaugration of Safina Charitable Hospital and Research Centre at Jamia Nagar, Delhi.

Important dates and their significance
This website is being launched on the occasion of Eid-ul-fitr of the year 1424 Hijri, Tuesday the 1st of Shawal. This date coincides with the Gregorian (the popular English calendar) date of 26 November 2003.
Confusion about the visibility of moon on the eve of the last day of the month is frequent. Consequently, decision as to the day of Eid-ul-fitr often varies. Due to overcast sky or dust hanging around the western horizon, the keenly awaited sight of the thin new moon is often illusionary. A software converter which instantly tells the corresponding dates of the Hijri and Gregorian calendar is brilliantly designed by Adel A Al-Rumaih in 1996-97 and can be downloaded from Islamic sites. In case it is not available, with the help of this software, we will declare the probable date of sighting of moon on every 28th and 29th day of every lunar month.
The day of Eid-ul-Fitr comes on the completion of the month long fasting and is celebrated with great piety. The day starts with two rakat prayers in congregation. First read the niyat followed by takbeer, surae Hamd, then another surah surae sabbehismah and five times recitation of quonoot with hands raised as for doa. In the second rakat, after surae Hamd surae, read was-shams and then four times quonoot. The Eid prayer is best done in congregation behind a pesh imam (leader of the prayer) but in the event of not having one, it can be offered at home. Ladies should also pray in the same way on their own and in their home. It may be noted that there is no restriction in Islam for their offering prayers in congregation but in separate rows a little away from men, whether in the mosque or in a suitable open space. The prayers on the two Eids are not wajib (mandatory ) but should be treated best as such.
At the end besides feasting, treating guests, relations and neighbors, there is a compulsory element of taking out in cash or kind a sum equivalent to the cost of a little over 3 kgs of wheat or dates for every member of the family , which should be given in charity to the poor and the needy. This is often practiced in the form of sending it to an Orphanage or a home for the less privileged or could be given personally to the family of a known destitute.

A drunkard, characterless corrupt that he was , bowing to his dictates amounted to the end of the islamic faith so Husain AlaihissSalaam flatly refused Bai-at , unmindful of the consequences which did appeared in the form of the great tragedy of Karbala in the 10th of Moharram of the Year 61 Hijri corresponding to Tuesday 9th October 680 AD .

Hadis-e-Rasool (SAWS) and holy Quraan
Quraan, one among the books of divine revelations is the collection of messages received by the Prophet of Islaam from God through the angel Gebrael over a period of time. In the present form, it is a collection, compiled and recorded and printed either in the form of thirty paaras for convenience or in a full volume. In itself, it is a Miracle since even after 1400 years of its revelation, it is exactly the same without any changes, additions or alterations. Meanings, translations and interpretation may sometimes differ but the text remains exactly the same. In order to understand the meaning and the interpretation of the text correctly and clearly, it is very essential to refer to the various hadises (sayings of the Rrasool-e-Islam (SAWS) reaching us from reliable sources. After the demise of the Prophet Mohammad (SAWS), a lot of hadises were invented unscrupulously for ulterior motives and have been mixed up with the true one. However, the seeker of truth can easily differentiate the truth by examining the source . If it comes through the immediate family of the Prophet Mohammad and is in perfect conformity with the holy book and matches the practices of the Ahlebait alaihissalaam then there can be no doubt on its authenticity and correctness. This criteria holds good in every sphere of a momin’s (a true practicing muslim) life.
In this most eminent surah is a very important prayer besides the expression of thankfulness to God Almighty to grant the blessing of keeping us on the right path all the time and take us only on the way of life of those ones on whom God blessed and showered all His kindness. Also, there is an expression to keep away from those on whom, because of their sins, curse followed. Nobody in his senses will miss the obvious reference of the infallible family of the Prophet Mohammad (SAWS) on whom divine presents were graciously showered (neymat) and whose enemies are showered curses and who shall find a place only in Hell.
Lighter moments-mizahul momeneen
Humor has its own place in every day life. However, there is no place for vulgarity or cheap jokes in Islaam. Meaningful light moments and intellectual humor has always been given its due place probably to offset the day to day tensions. Certain events in the life of the family of Rassol e Islam appreciating or involved in the humor of the most subtle type, have been mentioned. We shall describe one such event here and we would like to invite the surfers to send us any event of the lighter moments they have read, heard or encountered and which could be included in these columns. The most interesting ones will find a place in this e-publication.

Rasool-e-Islaam (SAWS) and his son-in-law Hazrat Ali Alaihissalaam were having a feast of delicious dates. The Rasool akram (SAWS) asked, “Ya Ali, who has eaten more and who has eaten less. In the meantime, Hazrat Ali who was keeping some of the seeds in the heap in front of Hazrat Mohammad (SAWS) said, “Please see, whoever has more seeds in front of him has taken more". Obviously Rasool Allah (SAWS) had a larger heap in front of him ..
India’s rich Islamic sites and heritages.
Islaam came to India much before the invasions of the so called muslim shahs and kings. There were interactions between Indians and Arabs during the early days of Islaam. India had great place of respect among the family of Rasool-e-Islaam. This is evident from the fact that Imam Husain Alahissalam, keen to avoid confrontation, even offered to go to India rather than go to war with the infidels who were demanding his allegiance and surrender in the hands of Yazid, the great drunkard and bad character claiming the throne as well as the religious leadership of Islamic empire.
Influenced by Sufi Saints and other followers of Ahlebait-e-Rasool (SAWS), Islamic migrants settled down with great harmony with the local population and over the centuries established a large number of Imambargah, dargahs, mausoleums and madrasas, details of some of the better known of which will appear in the following months.
Safinatul Hidaya Trust India established yet another Centre of Learning at Jamia Nagar Delhi at Safina Lane near Batla House and started from this year an Ashra-e-Arbayeen addressed by the most eminent Khateeb-e-Ahlabait , Hujjatul Islaam Maulana Syed Aqeel-al-Gharavi..CD's of all the ten Majlis can be obtained from Safina Charitable Hospital and Research Centre ,Safina Road, Joga Bai ExtensionJamia Nagar Delhi 25 India Tel.91 11 26980120 , 56118466 or from Jameattusaqlain,Imambara Lane,Rasheed Market ,Khureji Delhi Ph. 56118666, 22506727, fax. 22057745
After successful completion of a year of working of the Hospital, the Institution was blessed by the presence of the most eminent Orator from Pakistan the reverend Hujjatul Islam Maulana Syed Razi Jafar Naqvi , who formally inaugurated the Institution and recited a Majlis the day before in memory of the most blessed, the departed buzurgaan-e-Ulma-e-Karaam.

Good neighborly relations with one and all
The basic Islamic concept is peace, love, care and concern for all. Among the rights and responsibilities given to every God fearing pious muslim is to see before going to bed and ensure that nobody in the immediate neighborhood has gone without food. It is not necessary that the enjoinment is meant only for the peoples of one’s own community or religion. If for any reason, some ill informed, misguided and ignorant peoples still call themselves muslim, organize groups which spread terror among the sects and religions and involve in killings and destructions, the blame entirely lies to the individuals and their organizations and in no sense is islamic. These groups, often bearing fancy Islamic names or even bearing the name of the prophet of peace have no concern whatsoever with real Islaam. Any event to highlight such noble principles and practices of Islam shall be highly appreciated and find place in this site. If interested please mailto: mail@safinatulhidaya.org.
Labbaik Ya Mohammad (saws), Labbaik Ya Ali (alaih), Labbaik Ya Husain (alaih)and Labbaik ya Abbas Alaihisssalaam.
Islaam preaches and practices only peace and welfare for all mankind , however today's world is full of tyranny terror and crime. Extreme brutal treatments meted to helpless prisoners in Iraq came forward to the knowledge of everyone . Barbarism on the muslims of Iraq , desecration of holiest of the holy places in Najaf and Karbala by the forces of evil conglomerate is condemned by all the Sunni and the shia Ulema Council of India and to express solidarity with the entire Islamic world particularly the Iraqi's, an absolutely peaceful All India Protest Rally is being organized on 20th June 2004 at 10 AM at the Delhi's Ram Leela Maidan , where a massive gathering is expected from all over the country . Convener Hujjatul Islam Maulana Saiyyad Kalbe Jawwad Sahab of Lucknow .
Terrorism by so called freedom of expression . In recent month great upheaval was created by publishing and reprinting caricatures of Prophet Mohammad (saws) by various agencies . Muslims have around the world peacefully protested against this shameful act but all the protests have been by far peaceful and without violence of any kind though in retaliation a few life were also lost, more ever the protest came about after several month of that evil publication , much because of the voluntary restraints, because it was an insult no doubt but for the same Rasool (saws) whose path were often littered with filth and thorns and household refuse and dust were thrown on him, while he once visited to find the cause of missing mischief as the old lady fell ill one day and was so ashamed finding the prophet of Islam Coming to ask for her welfare.
We all Muslims of the world condemn this act of sacrilege and expect an apology from the perpetrators of the sin who knew not what they were doing and how immensely they were hurting the feelings of the community who dare not retaliate in the same way as they have the same regards and respect for the founders of their religions and consider them too as most eminent messenger of God .

The secret of good health and fitness
Simple living, high thinking. Similarly, simple diet, positive attitude, a good regime of physical activities/exercises, regular prayers and faith in the almighty, His Rasool (SAWS) & Aimmae massoomeen alaihisalamm, and trying to regulate life on the path shown by them, ensure disease free health and quality life.
However, perfect health may allude sometimes and ailments attack due to certain factors of our own making. These are pollution, adulteration and infections. But the remedies to combat these are again available in the feet of the same God chosen divine powers. A lot of mention is available in the medical text about the recipes taught by them for various ailments which work without fail. There are a lot of do’s and don’ts also prescribed. Rasool Allah’s (SAWS) famous advise about too much sugar consumption is very well known. It is also strange that muslims are known to be great connoisseur of meat in spite of his famous exhortation against meat consumption. To quote, "Don’t make your stomach a graveyard of animals." While meat eating has been allowed in shariah, its excessive consumption has been warned against. Among the Imams, Imam-e-Sadiq (alaih) had special interest in medicine and his prescriptions for good health and cure for many diseases could still be found. One great contribution in this respect is his advice against drinking water during, immediately, before and after meals. This has now been proved very true by modern scientists as it leads to washing away a large portion of the nutrients that one gets from the meals.
Maulae Kainat Hazrat Ali alaihissalaam has given a unique regime to combat most ailments. By adapting a very simple method with no medicine or exercise, this method prescribes drinking about a litre of water first thing in the morning, without mouth washing and abstaining to have anything for the next one hour or so. This is combined with not drinking water immediately before or after meals mentioned earlier. No doubt, recent researches by a Japanese doctor, after extensive trials have suggested exactly a similar treatment claiming a sure cure even for such incurable ailments as Cancer besides many other diseases which could be cured within a few days to a few months. Peoples suffering from any incurable disease may try this recipe with faith and belief, Inshaa Allah, God willing and with the blessings from the Aimmah Masoomeen Alaihissalaam , soon , divine cure will be granted.
